Trini God
I listened carefully to the howling of voices like wolves warning their pack of danger,
I stood there helplessly, thinking what was wrong with my country.
They say God's a Trini, but what's going on with the meaning of humanity
Only when it hits home, do we realise the need for better security.
Confused and shaken by the things spoken, there is no accountability for the criminals we breed.
Whether brother, sister, uncle, or friend, we are responsible for serving and protecting.
The economy is a living testimony that inflation breaking backs like bowlers falling on cars,
Day-to-day living is becoming challenging.
In reality, it's all over the world, but how can we make it better for our neighbourhood?
Stigmatised and stereotyped, we plaster a family member by the one that caused pain, not allowing a chance for change.
If we don't like, we don't hire, we don't help.
We look from a place of contempt.
What do we honestly expect? It's a domino effect.
Hate on hate shot called bullets fired, but no one saw because they didn't like each other.
It's just a scene of who can do better than who, none for love, peace, and genuine gratitude.
We are seeing the nation crumble under the sun.
It feels like the Isreal and Palestine war.
How can we make it better? Now, it's not just guns. It's also mental health issues we encounter.
It's a sad story being told; I don't think God's a Trini at all.
We are truly reaping the seedlings we sow.
A look in from the outside world,
Is this the end of a once sweet nation we knew,
What's left for the new generation to follow?
I believe that's the scary part left unanswered.
